In today’s freefalling economic situation there are going to be a good many people that think that there is nothing that they can do if they have gotten a Foreclosure Notice from your lender. The truth of the matter is that you actually do have a few options open to you if you are about to lose your home to foreclosure. No one wants to see their home being listed in with all of the other foreclosed homes in the area that are going to be sold because they could not afford to keep it. There are a few things that you might be able to do to keep from losing your house to foreclosure.
One of the main things that you can and really need to do when you start falling behind on your mortgage payments is to contact the mortgage company/bank/lender as soon as you possibly can and ask them of they cam split your mortgage payments down or ask them if that will restructure those payments so that they are lower for a while. This serves 2 purposes: it keeps the house out of the foreclosure auctions ad it saves your credit rating. Having that on your credit report that you lost your property/home to foreclosure is something that you really do not want to see on your credit report.
The other possibility is that you actually can sell the house to someone else before it actually goes into foreclosure to make sure that you do not lose this house unwillingly. There are plenty of buyers out there that would absolutely love to be able to buy your house (or others that are about to be foreclosed on) for themself before it actually gets put into foreclosed auctions to be sold by the bank. By doing something like this you are involved in a win-win situation all around. This is a good thing for both you and the person interested in your house if you are able to reach a “meeting of the minds” and agree on a good selling price. That buyer might have to go have to go directly to your lender though to buy the property. They are definitely going to need to be pre-qualified by a lender beforehand.
