Government Foreclosures Manifest Nationwide Rise

The Q2 or second quarter of 2008 analysis of the real estate market yields the result that government foreclosures have continued to rise all across the US. The total number of foreclosure filings in Q2 2008 proved 14 percent higher than the Q1 figure and a severe 121 percent more than the corresponding figure for Q1 of 2007. Nevada remained the worst affected state, with one in every 43 households succumbing to government foreclosures during Q2 2008. During the same period, California and Arvada were two other states to have been radically affected, with one in every 65 families and one in every 70 homes in them respectively yielding to the government foreclosures ogre.

Hayward foreclosure filings have been surging, along with those of the rest of the nation. August 2008 saw a 12 percent rise in the government foreclosures all across the US over the preceding month of July. For the 20th successive month, Nevada held the top ranking among the US states with the greatest foreclosures rates. Nevada’s 11,707 foreclosure filings recorded during August 2008 meant that one in every 91 households there had yielded to such a seizure. The second highest rate of foreclosure filings was recorded in California, where one in every 130 households went under. Arizona stood at the third spot, with one household out of every 182 getting foreclosed.

As per the Forbes magazine, the top five markets for buying a foreclosed home in the US are currently: Charlotte, Raleigh, Nashville, Oklahoma City, and San Antonio. The five cities that followed up this list are: Albuquerque, Knoxville, Seattle, Indianapolis, and Washington-Arlington-Alexandria.
